Promises about the new album |

Greetings listeners and followers. I have two words for you: NEW MUSIC. And while I'm not quite sure when the new record will be finished, I have the following promises:
1. The new record will be finished before my wife gives birth to our daughter. Finished is the key word there. Released, not quite sure. But we're on schedule to finish all basic tracking by mid-April.
2. The new record will feature a rerecording a classic CGD song. Which one, you ask? Just look to my favorite town in Utah for the answer to that question.
3. The new record will sound nothing like any Nickelback album. Or at least I sure hope it doesn't.
As far as the title of the album, I still haven't come up with something I like. I can't self-title it, because I already have a self-titled record, though only about 10 copies are actually floating around this earth (but that's another story). I'm also not positive I want to go all "Peter Gabriel" on this one and do a second (or third, or fourth) self-titled album. I also don't want to go Blues Traveler or Lenny Kravitz and name it after the number release it is (in my case, it could be called "3" or "Three"). So I'm still searching for the right name. And I thought naming a baby was hard. I've been trying to name this album for two years.

Oh yeah, and shows. Look for me playing some shows this summer. Working on dates, but I'll be playing around Parker & Littleton area. Won't be playing any until the new record is ready to go because you're gonna want to buy it! |

Looks like we'll be pushing this record back to Spring 2010. This is neither Mike nor I's day job, so we haven't been able to make some scheduling work. BUT, it's coming along, slowly, and is beginning to sound great.
And like everyone else out there, I've hopped the Twitter bandwagon, and can be followed at @ginodean. I'll be updating from the studio as the record progresses, and about life as it happens.

Studio Album Releasing this Fall |

Last year we began work on my newest project, still untitled, which will be my third album. I am working with some musicians out here in SE Colorado.
When Forever, Out of Here came out in 2005, I thought that there would be a natural follow-up of songs that would evolve after my wife and I made such a major transition in our lives. What took place, however, was a reflection of not where I was going, but a reflection of where I've been.
I grew up wanting to be a writer, and spent hours of my childhood thinking up stories, journaling, and documenting life on my computer. I have all of it. Still. Looking back and reading those documents makes me cringe. But it gives me an understanding of who I was as a high school student, a lonely college student, a musician, a man in love.
This is an interesting, personal record for me. We're in the middle of tracking bass this week and next. Hearing these songs take shape has been really fun for us, and I'm excited to share them.
Expect more from this site, and this page, in the coming days, weeks, months and years.
